Are there other Fair Trade products available besides coffee?

Yes. Equal Exchange offers a wide variety of fairly traded foods and beverages, as do a growing number of U.S. companies. For more information see the Fairtrade International's website.

A Fair Trade system based on the same principles is also available for producers of crafts, textiles and oriental rugs. For further information on these sectors contact the Fair Trade Federation in Washington D.C., 202-636-3547, info@fairtradefederation.org.

You may also contact the two large, long established, non-profit organizations who handle most of the US imports of fairly traded non-food items: Ten Thousand Villages, in Akron, PA, and SERRV International, in Madison, WI. Marketplace of India, is another leading supplier of fairly traded textile imports. Handmade Expressions also features a variety of fairly traded handmade goods from India.

Rugmark International has developed a non-exploitative, monitored sourcing option for oriental rugs, such as those manufactured in India and Pakistan, called GoodWeave. See list of certified brands, importers and designers.
