Equal Exchange: Fairly Traded Gourmet Coffee, Tea & Chocolate
Are your cocoa and chocolate products vegan? Soy-free? Gluten-free?
All Equal Exchange chocolate products are soy- and gluten-free. Unlike many companies, Equal Exchange does not use soy lecithin in any of our chocolates. Other companies use soy lecithin as an emulsifier in making chocolate because it is a cheaper replacement for cocoa butter and cuts down on processing time, saving money in manufacturing.

While Equal Exchange's cocoas do not contain gluten or soy, they are manufactured on equipment that also processes wheat and soy.

Most of Equal Exchange's chocolate and cocoa products are also vegan. Only Equal Exchange's Organic Milk Chocolate with a Hint of Hazelnut, Chocolate Caramel Crunch with Sea Salt bar and Organic Hot Cocoa Mix contain dairy. If you are looking for a dairy-free cocoa, try our Organic Spicy Hot Cocoa.
