When you get a local market, café, or restaurant on board, you’re not only ensuring access for you to enjoy Equal Exchange products on a regular basis, you’re also enabling hundreds of your neighbors to savor and learn about Fair Trade. As a familiar face, your requests to your local businesses carry a lot of weight. Knowing you’re behind them and willing to be a partner in making a shift might be what tips the scale for them to offer Equal Exchange on their shelves or in their menus.

- A little thank you often goes a long way. Say thank you or write a thank you note the next time you pick up a bag or a mug-full.
- Create your own event by tabling at a local store that carries Equal Exchange. You help raise awareness, move more coffee for farmers, and support a local business that has made the commitment to offer Fair Trade to your neighbors.
- Ask if the business will be involved in any upcoming community events where you can help them serve and talk up Fair Trade to your community. We can send you a T-shirt to wear at the event!

The most important thing you can convey to the local business is your passion for Fair Trade, and why their decision to carry Equal Exchange products would benefit their business and their customers. Great taste, organic, sustainably-grown, connection to farmers. We can send you materials to bring to them - on Fair Trade and on our various products – and we’re available to answer any tough questions they (or you) may have.
