Equal Exchange is a proud sponsor of the 30th Annual Cultural Survival Winter Bazaar Series. The Cultural Survival Bazaars are the biggest international craft and art fair in America. These are free-admission events offering attendees the unique opportunity to shop fairly traded items, handmade by indigenous peoples in Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
At the Cultural Survival Bazaars, every gift has a story to tell. Meet many of the artisans who make the crafts, learn about them, the craft-making process, and their cultural communities. The items available at the bazaars include jewelry, art, crafts, clothing, pottery, tribal wares, carvings, décor, and much more. Best of all, the proceeds support a variety of non-profit work worldwide while supporting indigenous artisans and Fair Trade. And stop by the Equal Exchange booth to warm up with a cup of delicious Fair Trade coffee!
The Cultural Survival Bazaars are a great place to bring the family, meet friends, shop, eat a variety of ethnic foods, and enjoy the cultural atmosphere. The bazaars also offer free performances all day. This year the performances include those of the Ecuadorian band Yarina, the Tuvan throat singing group Alash Ensemble, traditional Northern Cheyenne and Mohawk storytelling by Leonard FourHawks, craft-making demonstrations, and much more.
