New Chocolate Bar Labels Emphasize Quality |
Dary Goodrich, Chocolate Product Manager
This winter you will be able to get your hands on our new chocolate bar labels! We are excited to have a new design that will reflect the high quality of our chocolate and do justice to the expertise of the cacao farmers.
So what will you find on our new labels? We've gone with a very clean and simple design that focuses on the illustration of three cacao pods on the front of the package. Cacao pods are the fruit on the cacao tree (Theobroma cacao) that enclose the cacao beans, which are what ultimately get crafted into chocolate. The back of the package will feature photos of different farmers from the co-operatives we work with in the Dominican Republic and Peru. You will also be able to easily find the cacao content of the bar, which refers to the percentage of the bar by weight that is derived from the cacao bean.
With these new labels we are also happy to announce that we have made the switch to using vanilla from a Fair Trade source in Madagascar. Fair Trade vanilla is a recent addition to the list of Fair Trade Certified™ products.
Enjoy the same pure deliciousness of our six chocolate bars with their new look and keep your eyes open for new labels for our hot cocoa and baking cocoa in 2008!
